XIII. FORMER EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS

All positions/appointments requiring background checks (per the Criminal History Background Check Questionnaire) are required to have new background checks completed for any break of service (terminated from OMNI) more than 31 days. The chart below details these requirements.

VULNERABLE POPULATIONS

If working with a vulnerable population, a new background check is required for any break in service more than 31 days, or if unfunded for 90 days or more.

Criminal History Background Checks are required for former employees and volunteers as outlined below:

Rehire Faculty, A&P, or USPS

If break in service for more than 31 days, or if unfunded for 90 days or more (consult HR-ERS for procedure)

Rehire OPS (includes: OPS Faculty & GAs)

If break in service for more than 31 days or if unfunded for 90 days or more AND the duties of the position warrant it (reference the Former Employees/Volunteers section C.2. of Criminal History Background Check Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11 and consult HR-ERS for procedure)

Reappointing a Volunteer

If break in volunteer service for 90 days or more AND the duties of the volunteer role warrant it (reference the Former Employees/Volunteers section C.3. of Criminal History Background Check Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11 and consult HR-ERS for procedure)
