VIII. FINGERPRINTING


Fingerprinting is completed with all Level 2 and DCF Summer Camp Background Checks.

  • The Level 2 Background Check package is the combination of both the Standard (Accurate) Background Check and the fingerprint report issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The fingerprint report provides the following:
    • FDLE statewide search
    • FBI nationwide fingerprint-based check
    • Notification of warrants or domestic violence injunctions
  • There are three types of Level 2 Background Checks:
    • Candidates for employment
    • Volunteers (non-summer camp) - non-paid volunteers
    • Summer Camp Candidates & Volunteers being considered for a role in a University-sponsored summer camp. (See the Summer Camp Background Check Page for more information.)

HOW TO GET FINGERPRINTED

LOCATIONS

  • Tallahassee and local suburbs:
    • Office of Human Resources - Fingerprinting Office
      • Address: 282 Champions Way, University Center, Building A (6th Floor), Suite 6200
      • Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00 am-4:45 pm
      • Bring: Government-issued Photo ID
      • Visitor Parking: See light green spaces on the map below
    • The FSU Police Department
      • Address: 830 West Jefferson St, Tallahassee, FL, 32306
      • Hours: Tuesday-Friday: 1:00-3:00pm
      • Bring: Government-issued Photo ID
  • Outside Tallahassee
    • Fingerprinting can be completed outside Tallahassee at a Fieldprint fingerprinting location. The instructions to complete this process will be emailed to the candidate and department once the background check is requested.
