Dependent Scholarship Program

Florida State University provides dependent children or spouses of full-time faculty and staff with a scholarship opportunity to obtain tuition assistance for undergraduate or graduate level education at FSU. Human Resources will choose at random from a pool of applicants a limited number of eligible dependent children or spouses of qualified faculty and staff.

Florida 529 Plan

The Florida 529 Plan has been ranked among the best-performing college savings plans by SavingforCollege.com. The Florida 529 Plan is an investment account that provides a flexible and tax-free way to save for college expenses. Investment earnings are not taxed when funds are used for qualified educational expenses. In general, qualified expenses include tuition, fees, room and board, and the cost of books, supplies and equipment required for the enrollment or attendance at an eligible educational institution.

Employees can enroll into a Florida 529 account during the annual open enrollment period and have contributions payroll deducted.

Florida Prepaid College Plan

The Florida Prepaid College Plan allows employees to lock in college plan prices and prepay, on a bi-weekly deduction schedule, the future cost of college tuition, tuition differential fees, local fees, and dormitory housing. The Florida Prepaid College Plan is designed for Florida schools; however, it can be used at most schools nationwide.

Employees can enroll into a Florida Prepaid account during the annual open enrollment period and have contributions payroll deducted.

FSU Tuition Waiver

Florida State University provides the opportunity for the University's employees to take up to two courses, or six hours, of course work per academic term tuition free. To be eligible, employees must be a full-time (1.00 FTE), salaried (AEX, A&P, Faculty and USPS) employee and, if currently enrolled, be in good academic standing. This equates to up to $1,293.30 for in-state undergraduate courses and $2,875.92 for six hours of graduate-level course work. Application.
