Reminder: Minimum Wage Increase

HRMS

This message has been approved by Shelley Lopez, Program Director, Communications/Special Projects, for distribution to all Department Representatives.

This is a reminder that effective September 30, 2021, the new Florida minimum hourly rate is $10.00. Earlier this year, the Office of Human Resources notified campus partners that in November 2020, Florida voters approved increases to the state’s minimum wage, which will gradually move from the current $8.65 an hour to $15 an hour by September 2026. To comply, employers must implement the following hourly minimum wage schedule:

Effective Date

Florida Minimum Wage

(non-tipped employees)

January 1, 2021

$8.65

September 30, 2021

$10.00

September 30, 2022

$11.00

September 30, 2023

$12.00

September 30, 2024

$13.00

September 30, 2025

$14.00

September 30, 2026

$15.00

Employee actions with an effective date of September 30, 2021, or after should be appointed at the new hourly rate.  All OPS employees making less than $10.00 per hour will be systematically increased in OMNI HR.
