Reminder: Open Enrollment Contact Information

Important Announcement

This message to all faculty, staff, and OPS has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of Staff.

In follow-up to our previous message regarding 2021 Open Enrollment, this is a reminder that contact information in People First must be current and accurate to ensure that Open Enrollment notices are received timely.

Employees have until Friday, September 25, 2020, to log in to the myFSU portal to ensure that their home and mailing addresses are up to date and that a preferred email and phone number is listed. Contact information will be sent from FSU to People First to update employee account information.

Contact information in People First is utilized for the following:

  • Passwords – Resetting a People First password requires multifactor authentication. This includes providing key information (People First Login ID, SSN, and date of birth). To receive the temporary security code, an employee must have either a valid preferred email or a mobile phone number capable of receiving a text on record in People First.
  • Important Emails – Emails from State of Florida, State of Florida Insurance Companies, People First, and other state partners are sent to the email address on file in People First.
  • Insurance Cards and Important Notices – Mailing addresses in People First are used to send important information related to enrollment opportunities, as well as to send insurance cards for state insurance plans.
  • Insurance Plan Eligibility – Where an employee lives and works is critical to ensuring that the right insurance plans are offered when enrolling. If contact information is inaccurate, an employee may not be offered the right insurance plans.

To validate your contact information, log in to the myFSU portal. Once you are logged in, select Human Resources on the left-hand side under myFSU Links, then select Personal Details and update any addresses or contact details that are outdated.

If you need assistance updating your information or have general questions about Open Enrollment, the Benefits office is here to help. Email your questions to insurance@fsu.edu or call (850) 644-7041 to schedule an appointment.
