Reminder: Tallahassee Future Leaders Academy

Message to deans, directors, department heads, and department representatives

This message has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of Staff, for distribution to all Deans, Directors, and Department Heads.

In follow-up to the previous communication, please submit your requests for TFLA participation by Thursday, March 6.

The TFLA program is sponsored by the City of Tallahassee, which partners with area organizations to provide summer jobs for local youth (ages 15-19). The program provides community youth with work experience, professional development, and mentorship.

If your department is interested, please email a brief statement of interest to the contact listed below outlining:

  • Your department’s interest in hosting a TFLA student.
  • The nature of the job you will provide. Note: you must have availability to host from June 16 to August 1 for 20 hours per week.
  • The anticipated learning outcomes related to leadership and professional development from your position.
  • Contact information of someone who will serve as the student’s supervisor.
