Town Halls - 403(b) Savings Plans Project

Important Announcements

This message to all faculty, staff, and OPS has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of Staff.

As an employee of Florida State University, enrollment in a voluntary 403(b) plan can be a key component of your retirement savings. Starting in January 2023, FSU will offer the 403(b) product through three vendors: TIAA, Corebridge Financial (AIG), and Voya, with TIAA serving as the Lead Recordkeeper. Each vendor offers a variety of investments, which will be monitored by our independent fiduciary advisory firm, CAPTRUST, which specializes in higher education 403(b) plans.

The Office of Human Resources will be hosting informational town halls, presented by CAPTRUST, to provide details about the updates to the plan. Topics to be covered at the town halls include:

  1. Provider lineup

  2. Removal of some providers

  3. New Retirement@Work website

  4. New self-directed auto increase feature

  5. New Roth in-plan conversion feature

We strongly encourage all administrators, current 403(b) participants, and any employee interested in gaining additional information on an employee-sponsored voluntary retirement option to attend one of the town halls. These sessions will be held at the College of Medicine Auditorium and via live webcast. Representatives from TIAA, CoreBridge Financial (AIG), and VOYA will also be available to provide enrollment materials and answer questions.
