Tropical Storm Nicole Update: Tallahassee Campus Closed Nov. 10

Campus Closure

This message to all students, faculty and staff has been approved by Kyle Clark, Vice President for Finance and Administration.

Due to Tropical Storm Nicole, Florida State University’s Tallahassee campus will be closed for business beginning 11 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9. All classes will be canceled, and all campus offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 10.

Only employees designated as essential personnel will be expected to work. Employees who have questions about their work schedules and work location should consult their supervisors.

As the university will be closed Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day, the Tallahassee campus will resume normal business operations Monday, Nov. 14.

The Panama City campus is expected to remain open and operational Thursday, Nov. 10. Students in the Tallahassee area who are enrolled in online classes through the Panama City campus will be contacted by their instructors.

University officials are working closely with our public safety partners and the National Weather Service to review the latest information on this potential severe weather event and its impact to Florida State University.

Do not travel into the path of the storm. Please continue to monitor the latest weather information from the National Weather Service or other official weather sources for information outside the Tallahassee area.
