University Closure
This message to faculty and staff has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of Staff.
Florida State University will close for business, and classes will not meet on Monday, June 19, 2023, in observance of the federal Juneteenth holiday. Salaried employees (USPS, A&P, Executive Service, and Faculty) will receive this as a paid holiday, and no annual leave usage is required.
As is the case with any holiday that falls within an academic term, the university will be closed, but essential services (as determined by department heads) must continue. Salaried employees required to work on the holiday will be provided straight-time compensatory leave in accordance with university policy.
Human Resources will provide more detailed guidance for employees before the holiday.
