Faculty Performance Increases

This message has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of Staff, for distribution to all Deans, Directors, and Department Heads.
As previously communicated in the attached memorandum, the University reached agreement with the United Faculty of Florida (UFF) on a non-recurring performance bonus in the amount of $1,500 for all eligible faculty for the 2019-2020 year. Additionally, the University agreed to implement a recurring performance increase in the amount of $1,500, effective August 7, 2020. These increases were agreed to on July 31, 2019, as part of the 2019-2020 FSU-BOT/UFF Collective Bargaining Agreement, prior to the current public health crisis.
Below is a reminder of the eligibility and funding requirements as previously outlined.
Faculty Performance Increase
- A recurring performance increase in the amount of $1,500, prorated by FTE, will be added to the base salary of eligible faculty effective August 7, 2020. The increase will be reflected in the paycheck dated August 28. The performance increase will be provided in addition to Promotion and Sustained Performance increases for eligible faculty.
- 9-month and 12-month faculty (in-unit & out-of-unit) must have been employed by FSU (in a salaried position) with continuous service on or before September 10, 2018, and be employed in active payroll status on the effective date of the increase to be eligible.
- Faculty members must have received an overall annual evaluation of at least “meets FSU's high expectations” for calendar year 2018 to be eligible. Faculty members who were given notice of non-renewal or contract cancellation for non-budgetary reasons (other than contingent non-renewals) before September 6, 2019, are not eligible for the increase.
- No action is required by the department to implement the increases. Departments should confirm the increases on the Active Employees report on Wednesday, August 19.
- Funding for the increases will be as outlined in the attached memorandum.
