Main Campus Card Access

This message to faculty and staff has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of Staff.

FSU Main Campus will close starting at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday September 28, 2022 – Friday September 30, 2022. All doors controlled by the University’s Card Access system will lock down at this time. 

During this time, anyone who has been previously authorized 24/7 card access to their respective areas will maintain this access during the University Closure.

Normal weekend unlocking schedules will resume Saturday, October 1, 2022.

If you have any questions concerning your level of card access in our system or need an adjustment made to a department’s unlocking schedule, please send an email to PublicSafetyCASS@fsu.edu.

You can also submit a case to Campus Access and Security Service through the myFSU Service Center.

HOW TO SUBMIT A CASE TO CASS THROUGH THE myFSU SERVICE CENTER 

Faculty and Staff

  • Log in to my.fsu.edu 
  • Select the FSU Service Center icon
  • You will be re-directed to another page, select New myFSU Service Center, then select Report a Problem
  • Under Case Overview select the following
    • How can we help you? Select “I need something”
    • What area can best help you with this issue? Select “Faculty and Staff Services”
    • Please help us....Does your issue pertain to any of these areas? Select “Building Access and Security (Alarms/Card Swipe/CCTV)”
    • We treat all requests with priority. How is this issue impacting you? Select “Case Priority (Low-Critical)”
  • Under Case Details enter the following
    • Subject: Provide a brief summary of the request
    • Description: Provide detail of the request (You may attach a file if desired)
    • Be sure to submit your case and make note of your case number for future reference

Other general reminders for employees to prepare for impending severe weather:

  • Employees should prepare their work area for the possibility of broken windows, roof leaks and power outages. Unplug computers, servers (if possible) and other sensitive electronic equipment. Cover equipment and critical records with plastic sheeting or secure in locked cabinets/drawers. Do not place electronic equipment on the floor. Back up data to off-site locations or removal devices and store securely.
  • Offices should be locked prior to leaving campus. 
  • Faculty and staff are discouraged from sheltering in their campus offices during storms.
