2022-2023 Dependent Scholarship Applications Open
This message to faculty and staff has been approved by Renisha Gibbs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Finance & Administration Chief of staff.
We are pleased to announce that the University is continuing the Tuition Scholarship Program for Dependents and Spouses. This program provides an opportunity for full-time employees (faculty* and staff) to apply for a scholarship for their dependent or spouse to be used towards the cost of tuition for an undergraduate or graduate education at FSU.
The Office of Human Resources is now accepting applications and will choose at random from a pool of applicants a limited number of eligible dependent children and spouses of qualified faculty* and staff to be scholarship recipients for the 2022-2023 academic year.
*The awarding of scholarships for dependents or spouses of qualified faculty are contingent upon the University reaching agreement in collective bargaining negotiations with the United Faculty of Florida.
For each eligible dependent child or spouse selected, the University will provide the cost of the matriculation tuition fee for six (6) hours of undergraduate/graduate tuition, per semester, for the 2022-2023 academic year. Please note, scholarship recipients are responsible for all other fees, including those related to books, supplies, building, capital improvement, student financial aid, activity and service, athletic, health, transportation, etc.
As the scholarship pool is limited, not all applicants will be selected. At the time of application, faculty or staff seeking more than one scholarship should indicate whether the first dependent/spouse is pursuing undergraduate or graduate hours and the applicant that should get priority. Scholarships for multiple dependents or spouses will only be provided if the pool has not been depleted. If the pool is depleted, there will be no additional scholarships beyond one per faculty or staff member.
University employees are eligible to apply for the scholarship for their dependents or spouses if they are salaried faculty and staff (A&P, USPS, AEX) who have completed one year of full-time continuous service by August 8, 2022. To receive the scholarship, students must currently be enrolled in 15 hours for undergraduate and 9 hours for graduate, and currently be in good academic standing.
For additional information regarding program eligibility, including a detailed description of who is considered a “dependent” for the purposes of this program, please visit FSU’s Office of Human Resources website.
To apply for the scholarship pool, please complete the Employee Dependent Scholarship Application and submit the completed form with all applicable supporting documentation to the Office of Human Resources by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. The announcement of all contingent awards will be made by Friday, August 19, 2022.
