MLK Week: First Generation and Imposter Syndrome in the University Setting

Imagine co-creating a future without imposterization!  First Gen students, junior faculty, deans, department chairs, and all others are welcome to come and hear panelists discuss: 

  • Imposterization in the academy and its effects on underrepresented groups 
  • The history and impacts of imposter syndrome 
  • Ways to cultivate success  

The event will be moderated by Dr. Leslie Richardson from the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Aliya Carrington, a senior in the Women's Studies program, and feature panelists:  

  • Arnez Wallace,  Assistant Director, Center for Academic Retention & Enhancement 
  • Dr. Diana Williams, Professor, Neuroscience 
  • Professor Keithen Mathis, Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Social Work 
  • Dr. Lara Perez-Felkner, Associate Professor, Higher Education and Sociology 

Thursday, January 19 from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM.

The in-person event will also be offered live via Zoom, but virtual attendees must register to participate
