Annual Publications
Affirmative Action Plan: As a contractor with over 50 employees and government contracts in excess of $50,000, FSU is required to develop and implement a written affirmative action program (AAP) every year. The University maintains and reviews the Affirmative Action Plan annually.
It is available for review in University Human Resources, Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance, 6200 University Center, Bldg. A, Tallahassee, Florida, 32306-2410.
Florida Equity Report: The Florida Educational Equity Act, FS 1000.05, and other state and federal legislation mandate that students and employees should not be discriminated against on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, or marital status. In addition to statutory guidelines of the Equity Accountability Program Report, FS 1012.95, require that each state University maintain an annual equity plan for appropriate representation of women and minorities in senior level faculty and administrative positions. The Florida Equity Report addresses three major areas: Enrollment, Gender Equity in Athletics, and Employment.
Vets-100 Report: In accordance with Title 38, United States Code, Section 4212(d), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) collects and compiles data on the Federal Contractor Program Veterans' Employment Report (VETS-100 Report) from Federal contractors and subcontractors who receive Federal contracts that meet the threshold amount of $100,000.
Other Publications
Updated ADA Self-Evaluation Plan: The Florida State University (FSU or University) fosters a commitment to a policy of equal access to all of its facilities, programs, services, and activities for persons with disabilities, whether as students, faculty, staff, or visitors. The self-evaluation plan provides an overview of the University's programs, services, activities, and facilities that illustrate FSU's commitment to making the University accessible to everyone. The document is provided to report on the progress of the University's 2001 self-evaluation conducted by the Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance (EOC).
Search & Screening Guide: Consistent and non-discriminatory search and screening efforts are key to supporting the University's commitment to equal employment opportunity for applicants. The University fosters an environment that actively promotes equal employment opportunities and nondiscrimination for all applicants and provides this Search and Screening Guide (Guide) as a resource for individuals with hiring authority and responsibilities.
The Guide sets forth uniform procedures for hiring officials when creating search and screening committees and serves as a blueprint for search and screening committee members to use as part of their process for filling University vacancies. The Guide is intended to supplement University policies in order to ensure searches comply with federal affirmative action laws, as well as state and federal nondiscrimination laws.
Please note that this Guide should not be considered the sole source on how to conduct an employment search, but rather as a procedural aide to support hiring initiatives. Broad, inclusive searches are essential to achieving diversity and users of the Guide are encouraged to augment these procedures by other actions and resources that contribute to the effectiveness of the University's selection process and attraction of diverse candidates.
